I would rather my son frequented public houses to learn to speak, than schools of glibness.

  1. 'Parlerie' is a rare antique word in French, and like 'parlage' is not to be found in Harrap's French-English dictionary. It has overtones of idle chatter and vacuousness as well as glibness - and thus should be The Word of our Time, a Zeitwort!
